Feel Good Paintings is owned and operated by Visual Artist Marcus James White, a native of Nashville, TN, who was raised right in the heart of Alexandria, LA. Marcus is a self-taught artist who attends various arts and crafts festivals around the Louisiana area. He is highly supported by Sharon B. White and Wilbur J. White, his loving parents, who also serve as founders of Feel Good Paintings.
Marcus started drawing at the young age of six years old, winning his first art contest at seven, a Christmas Card that was shared nationally around the Boys & Girls Club units. Marcus's unique style comes from his ability to see things as they were and as they are. Many customers refer to Marcus's paintings as a "colorful mixture of the past and present." In other words, you never know what you'll get. His wide variety of acrylic works include folk art, jazz, wild-life, and his own category that he likes to call "Old Time Louisiana."
What truly makes Marcus's work stand out, is that he does his paintings on old pieces of driftwood, cabinet doors, lawn chair seats, window shutters, and fan blades. This is most commonly referred to as "found art." However, at times you will see him throw in a good canvas paining just for good measure.
